niveau developer documentation

Scope and when to use

Use this API to answer questions about niveau, compare its fit for invoice checks, customer replies or report preparation, and find the beta access flow. It returns public product information. It does not expose customer workspaces, execute agents, send messages, upload files or create accounts. The website demo uses fictional data and is not an integration API.

Authentication and availability

GET /api/product requires no authentication, API key or account. This does not grant access to the niveau application, which is currently in private beta. Ask for access through the usual beta signup flow. Integrations that operate a customer workspace require a separate product and authorization design; they are not available through this website API.

Endpoint and parameters

GET https://getniveau.com/api/product returns JSON with the product name, description, category, availability, signup URL, model providers, FAQs, documentation URL and contact email. The optional lang query parameter accepts en (default), de or pl. Duplicate lang values and unknown query parameters return HTTP 400.

Example request

curl -sS "https://getniveau.com/api/product?lang=en"

Errors

Invalid queries return HTTP 400 with Content-Type: application/problem+json. Unknown API routes return HTTP 404 in the same format. Responses include type, title, status, detail and instance, plus code and resolution. For code invalid_query, send only one optional lang=en, lang=de or lang=pl parameter. For not_found, use the endpoint listed in the OpenAPI specification. Do not retry a 400 or 404 unchanged.

Caching and limits

Product information responses are cacheable for five minutes. There is no published fixed quota for this read-only endpoint. Fetch once and reuse the result instead of polling. Infrastructure can apply additional limits; if a response includes Retry-After, respect it. The endpoint does not call an AI provider or charge a model usage fee.

Markdown and discovery

GET https://getniveau.com/ with Accept: text/markdown returns a readable overview and Vary: Accept, Accept-Language. HTML clients keep the language redirect. Localized HTML pages remain static; use /overview.md for the English Markdown overview, /docs.md for these docs, /about.md for company information, /llms.txt for agent guidance and /openapi.json for the API schema. Missing pages return Markdown with HTTP 404 when requested as Markdown.

Review and data boundaries

Anthropic and OpenAI are supported today; Google and Mistral support is coming soon. Choosing cloud AI sends the information needed for the task to that provider. A person reviews results and approves actions that require approval. Never send client records, credentials or personal details to the public website demo or product information endpoint. Contact inbox@niveau.work to discuss an integration.
